First Day of Spring: A Fresh Canvas Awaits
Today marks the first day of spring—a quiet but powerful turning point. The light lingers a little longer, the air softens, and the world begins its slow return to color.
I always feel a renewed sense of anticipation this time of year. After months spent indoors, I’m looking forward to stepping outside again with my paints, setting up the easel, and working en plein air. There’s something irreplaceable about painting directly in the landscape—the shifting light, the movement of clouds, the subtle changes in color.
Even now, before everything fully blooms, there are hints of what’s to come. The earth is waking up. Soon, the muted browns and grays will give way to fresh greens, and the familiar scenes we know will feel entirely new again.
This season always reminds me that inspiration isn’t something we have to chase—it returns to us, naturally, just like spring itself.
I’m excited to share new work in the coming weeks, shaped by these first moments back outdoors and the landscapes as they come alive again.
Wishing you a season of renewal, creativity, and fresh perspective.
